SLIPPERY ROCK - Slippery Rock broke a 10-10 tie with two goals in the final 1:14 to post a 12-10 win over visiting East Stroudsburg University in PSAC women's lacrosse on Sunday afternoon.
ESU (5-2, 1-1), which was edged 12-11 by No. 4-ranked LIU Post on Friday for its first loss of the season, twice rallied from a two-goal deficit before Slippery Rock (6-0, 3-0) won it in the end.
Sophomore attack
TJ Jefferis had two goals and two assists, junior midfielder
Chessie Rahmer had two goals, four caused turnovers and five ground balls and senior attack
Lauren Green had a goal and two assists to lead ESU.
Green recorded her 100th career point, finishing the afternoon with 101 points on 80 career goals and 21 assists. She has 11 goals and seven assists this season.
Caitlynn Palladino had three goals and two assists, Tia Torchia had three goals and one assist and Bre Vodde scored three goals to lead Slippery Rock.
Torchia scored the go-ahead goal on a free position shot with 1:14 left, and Palladino finished the scoring with four seconds on the clock.
ESU trailed 7-5 at halftime after SRU scored the final three goals of the first half, but the Warriors responded to start the second half. Jefferis scored a pair of goals, both assisted by Green, around a goal by Rahmer to take an 8-7 lead with 24:47 remaining.
Slippery Rock scored the next three goals in a span of just under 10 minutes, including two by Torchia, to lead 10-8 at the 11:40 mark.
ESU won the ensuing draw control and junior midfielder
Alicia Stratten scored 12 seconds later to get the Warriors within 10-9, and freshman midfielder
Hana Cicerelle scored the game-tying goal with 2:44 left.

Emma Rufolo also scored for ESU.
Rufolo had eight draw controls as ESU held a 14-10 advantage. Slippery Rock posted a 23-22 edge in shots and a 25-22 margin in turnovers.
Emily Bitka made 10 saves for SRU, and freshman goalkeeper
Tatyana Petteway had eight saves for ESU.
The Warriors return to action on Saturday with a 1 p.m. home game vs. Gannon at Whitenight Field.
