WEST CHESTER, Pa. – East Stroudsburg University began the PSAC portion of its schedule with a 9-0 defeat at West Chester on Wednesday afternoon.

The Golden Rams (9-2, 2-0 PSAC) entered the year having gone 6-0 against PSAC East opponents in each of the past two seasons. They took all six singles matches in straight sets.

Junior Devin Presby and freshman Aubrianna Stetina turned in the best performance for the Warriors (2-5, 0-1 PSAC) at No. 3 doubles, winning four games against Abriana Nolan and Steph Cifarelli in an 8-4 setback. Freshman Marina Zardet registered the most-competitive singles match in a 6-3, 6-1 setback to Rylee Power at the No. 3 position.

ESU returns right back to action on Thursday afternoon, with the Warriors traveling to Division I Lafayette for a contest scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m. The match was originally scheduled for 4 p.m. on Friday, but was moved up due to the potential for inclement weather.
