EAST STROUDSBURG – Junior Mary Wallick totaled four hits and six RBIs, and Samantha Pickar went 5 for 6 with four runs scored and two RBIs across both games to help lead East Stroudsburg University to a doubleheader sweep over Millersville at Zimbar Field on Saturday afternoon.

The Warriors (12-19, 3-7 PSAC) scored five runs in the sixth inning to rally for a 7-6 victory in the opener, while they cruised to a 10-2 win in five innings in Game 2.

Wallick upped her team-leading average to .391, with 34 hits in 87 at-bats on the year. Pickar, meanwhile, has a team-best seven-game hitting streak, including three-straight multiple-hit efforts.

Sophomore Madison Vicendese was also strong offensively in both games, registering two hits in each contest, while freshman Kaylee Hazewski went 3 for 4 with three runs scored from the leadoff position in the night cap.

Senior LHP Rachael Liguori earned her third-career save after tossing a scoreless seventh inning in Game 1, and she improved her season record to 8-7 after going the distance in the circle in Game 2.

ESU won 3 of 4 games from the Marauders (17-22, 2-8 PSAC) in the season series. The Warriors return to the field on Wednesday afternoon, traveling to Wilmington for a non-conference doubleheader set to begin at 2 p.m.

Game 1: ESU 7, Millersville 6

The Marauders led 5-1 through four innings, scoring three runs in the first inning and adding two more in the second. Both teams added a run over the next inning and a half, setting the stage for ESU's dramatic rally in the bottom of the sixth.

Vicendese began the inning with her first home run of the season, a long shot to right field, to make it 6-3. Redshirt senior Danielle Dungee and senior Rae Holden followed with back-to-back hits, and after a groundout for the first out, Pickar cut the margin to two with an RBI single to right field.

Two batters later, junior Heather Visco came through with a two-out RBI single to left which reduced the deficit to one, and Wallick followed with a clutch two-run double to give the Warriors their first lead.

Freshman Erica Molinaro tossed 4 1/3 innings in relief for ESU, surrendering one run on nine hits to keep the Warriors within striking distance. Liguori came on for Molinaro for the seventh inning, and she struck out two batters in a 1-2-3 inning to register her first save of the season.

Molinaro (1-1) earned her first collegiate victory.

Game 2: ESU 10, Millersville 2 (five innings)

The Warriors scored in every inning in the nightcap, with solo tallies in the first three frames, three runs in the fourth and four in the fifth to close out the contest.

Five different ESU players recorded multi-hit performances. Hazewski and Pickar each had three hits, while Wallick, Vicendese and Liguori added two hits apiece. Senior Danielle Wissinger also came through with her team-leading fourth home run of the season, a solo blast off the scoreboard in right field in the third.

Wissinger picked up a second RBI in the fifth, plating the final Warrior run on a deep sacrifice fly to left. She now has 29 RBIs this spring, a total which is tied for the fifth most in ESU single-season history.

Sophomore Kendra Barlotta and junior Katherine Liedberg chipped in stolen bases in the win. Barlotta swiped third base in the second inning, improving to 13 for 16 in attempts on the season, while Liedberg stole home in the fifth to remain a perfect 13 for 13.

ESU completed a doubleheader sweep over a PSAC opponent for the first time since taking two from Bloomsburg (4-1, 2-1) to close out the 2015 regular season.
