EAST STROUDSBURG - East Stroudsburg University's women's lacrosse program set a school record with its 13th win of the season, and extended its record winning streak to eight with a 13-6 victory over Millersville in PSAC action on Thursday afternoon at Whitenight Field.

ESU (13-2, 9-1), the PSAC leader, secured its first PSAC Tournament appearance since 2011 and surpassed last year's school-record 12-5 campaign.

Freshman attack Cassidy McKenna had four goals and an assist, sophomore midfielder Emma Rufolo had two goals, an assist, five caused turnovers and six ground balls and freshman midfielder Hana Cicerelle had two goals and an assist for the Warriors.

Freshman goalkeeper Tatyana Petteway made 14 saves, continuing her impressive play in the cage. Petteway was last week's PSAC Athlete of the Week and IWLCA Division II Defensive Player of the Week, and entered this week ranked second in DII in save percentage (.557) and fifth in saves per game (11.2).

The Warriors led 6-2 at halftime and scored six of the game's final eight goals after Millersville (6-8, 3-6) cut the margin to 7-4 early in the second half.

Senior midfielder Emily Fitzsimmons, junior midfielder Alicia Stratten and sophomore attack TJ Jefferis all had a goal and an assist for ESU.

Senior attack Lauren Green and junior midfielder Chessie Rahmer added goals after being honored prior to the game for recording their 100th career points earlier this season. Green finished the afternoon with 130 points (91 goals, 39 assists) and Rahmer with 103 points (83g, 20a) after hitting the 100-point mark in a 10-8 win at Kutztown on Tuesday.

McKenna scored three goals in the first half, and Cicerelle had a pair of goals in less than two minutes to extend ESU's lead to 9-4 to answer a two-goal Millersville run.

ESU held a 32-27 advantage in shots despite a 15-6 discrepancy in draw controls. The Warriors forced 20 turnovers while giving up the ball just 11 times.

ESU, picked fifth in the PSAC preseason poll after losing three first team All-PSAC selections in attack Lauren Nunes, defender Caitlyn O'Connell and goalkeeper Jessica Maxwell, are 25-7 in two seasons under head coach Xeni Barakos - who was an All-PSAC selection at defender as a senior on ESU's last PSAC Tournament team (2011).

The Warriors are listed No. 6 in this week's NCAA DII South Region rankings, with the top six teams qualifying for the NCAA Tournament following the regular season and conference tournaments.

ESU is pursuing its first-ever PSAC regular season title, PSAC Tournament title and NCAA Tournament appearance.

The Warriors finish the regular season with two games next week, Wednesday at No. 12-ranked West Chester and Saturday vs. No. 19 IUP.
