WEST CHESTER, Pa. – One big inning in each game was enough for No. 20 West Chester to complete a doubleheader sweep over East Stroudsburg University on Wednesday afternoon.
The Golden Rams scored five unearned runs in the fourth inning of a 7-3 Game 1 victory, and a three-run home run by Cat Hammer in the third accounted for all of the scoring in a 3-0 final in Game 2.
West Chester (37-9, 10-2 PSAC) has now won five straight and seven of its last eight contests overall.
ESU (12-25, 3-11 PSAC) completed the road portion of its schedule, and will now look ahead to a 1 p.m. home doubleheader against Shippensburg on Friday afternoon to wrap up the 2017 season. Seniors

Game 1: No. 20 West Chester 7, ESU 3
The first seven runs scored in the opener were all unearned, with the teams combining for a total of five errors.
Junior RHP
Mary Wallick and West Chester LHP Amanda Houck traded zeroes in the circle for the first three innings, but the home side broke through in the bottom half of the fourth. After an error and two fly outs to begin the frame, the next five Golden Rams reached on four base hits (two doubles) and a walk.
The first two ESU runs came on three-straight West Chester errors in the fifth. The Warriors added a third on an RBI triple from freshman
Kaylee Hazewski, her first extra-base hit of the season, with one out in the seventh.
Sophomore
Samantha Pickar went 2 for 3 with a run scored from the No. 9 spot. The multi-hit output was her fourth in the past eight games.
Wallick struck out three while allowing four unearned runs over 3 2/3 innings of work. Houck (25-2) set a new single-season program record for wins in a complete-game effort for the Golden Rams.
Game 2: No. 20 West Chester 3, ESU 0
West Chester RHP Emily Maseth fanned four batters in a three-hit shutout in the night cap to improve her season record to 5-2. Wallick, sophomore

Rachel Grabowski managed singles for the Warriors.
Wissinger threw out her 11th baserunner of the season in the bottom of the first, as she gunned down leadoff hitter Madison Kelly attempting to steal second.
Liguori settled down nicely after Hammer's third-inning homer, as she 10 of the final 11 West Chester batters to step to the plate. The Gaithersburg, Md., native struck out three while registering her 47th career complete game (14th this season).
Hammer's long ball was her fifth of the spring.
