EAST STROUDSBURG – Senior LHP Rachael Liguori closed out her collegiate career with a complete-game effort in the circle, and fellow seniors Danielle Dungee and Danielle Wissinger delivered clutch RBI hits to lift East Stroudsburg University to a 7-2 victory over Shippensburg in the nightcap of Friday afternoon's doubleheader at Zimbar Field.

Dungee belted a run-scoring double in the fourth inning to put the Warriors ahead for the first time, and Wissinger came through with a three-run double to the gap in the sixth inning to break open the game late. Dungee finished the afternoon with two hits in each contest, while Wissinger's late hit gave her 34 RBIs for the year, tying her with Ashley Miller (2005) for the ESU single-season record.

The Raiders (26-19, 8-6 PSAC) took the opener by a 5-2 final. The Warriors end the 2017 season with a final record of 13-26 (4-12 PSAC).

Liguori, Dungee, Wissinger, Rae Holden and Bianca Monterosso were each honored in a Senior Day ceremony between games. All five played in Game 2 and contributed to the victory. Liguori capped off her ESU career by allowing two earned runs over seven innings. She is ranked No. 4 all-time in strikeouts (318), eighth in wins (31), ninth in complete games (48) and tied for 10th in shutouts (8).

Game 1: Shippensburg 5, ESU 2

The teams were tied 1-1 through the first four innings, with sophomore Samantha Pickar plating ESU's run on a second-inning sacrifice fly. Shippensburg went ahead for good with three runs in the fourth (one earned), and the visitors added some insurance on a two-out RBI double from Tara Bicko in the sixth.

Pickar added her second RBI of the contest on a fielder's choice in the sixth. Junior Mary Wallick took the loss in the circle despite allowing only three earned runs in her 10th complete game of the spring. She gave up 10 hits over seven innings of work.

Junior Heather Visco, sophomore Madison Vicendese and Dungee each contributed two hits to lead the Warriors offensively. Visco also added her 14th stolen base of the season (on 15 attempts).

Game 2: ESU 7, Shippensburg 2

The Raiders grabbed a 2-0 lead on a two-run double by Bicko in the second inning, but the home side rallied in the bottom of the fourth. Wallick and Wissinger began the inning with hits, and a one-out walk to Liguori loaded the bases for Dungee.

The first two ESU runs scored on Shippensburg wild pitches. Dungee then put the Warriors in front with a long double off the wall in left.

That was all the offense needed for Liguori, who allowed only one hit, a two-out infield single in the seventh, in the final three innings.

Sophomore Kendra Barlotta preceded Wissinger's three-run double in the sixth with a clutch RBI single up the middle to increase ESU's lead to 4-2. Wissinger's bases-clearing hit came with two outs in the frame. She had three hits in four at-bats in Game 2, ending the season ranked second on the team with a .317 batting average.

Wallick, who had one hit in each contest, finishes 2017 with a .378 average, 20 extra-base hits (including 13 doubles) and a .658 slugging percentage. That slugging percentage ranks second all-time in single-season program history, while her 13 doubles are one off the program's single-season record.

Holden went 1 for 2 with a walk in her final appearance for the Warriors. She leaves ESU ranked 11th all-time in home runs (9). Monterosso, meanwhile, earned starts in both games, playing third base in the opener and making two put outs in right field in the nightcap.
