EAST STROUDSBURG - East Stroudsburg University junior midfielder Chessie Rahmer and freshman goalkeeper Tatyana Petteway are named to the IWLCA Division II All-America third team, giving the Warriors two All-America selections in women's lacrosse for the first time in 17 years, it was released Thursday.

Rahmer (Salfordville, Pa./Souderton) and Petteway (Nanuet, N.Y./Albertus Magnus) helped lead ESU to its first-ever PSAC championship, PSAC regular season title and NCAA Division II Tournament appearance during a record-setting season.

The Warriors (17-3) set a school record for wins, including a record-shattering 12-game winning streak, culminating with a 10-9 win over Mercyhurst in the PSAC championship game on May 7.

ESU fell to Florida Tech, 17-10, in the first round of the NCAA Tournament last Friday.

Rahmer and Petteway are the 24th and 25th All-America selections in program history, but just the second and third in the last dozen years. Midfielder Molly O'Hara was named to the Synapse Sports (formerly WomensLacrosse.com) second team in 2011.

ESU's last teammates to earn All-America honors were Kristin Restivo and Megan Macauley in 2000.

The Warriors placed three players on the IWLCA All-South Region team announced last week, with Rahmer and Petteway on the first team and sophomore midfielder Emma Rufolo on the second team. Rufolo was named PSAC Athlete of the Year and gave ESU three first team All-PSAC honorees.

Rahmer was ESU's top scorer with 50 goals and 60 points, and ranked second on the Warriors behind Rufolo in caused turnovers (35), ground balls (55) and draw controls (56). She helped ESU rank second in the PSAC in scoring (13.2 goals per game) and third in caused turnovers, ground balls and draw controls per game.

She scored 24 of her 50 goals in ESU's nine games against nationally-ranked opponents. She had at least three goals in nine of 20 contests, and recorded double figure points in all but three games.

Her biggest games included five goals in a 16-10 win vs. then-No. 10 Mercyhurst on April 15, and four goals and an assist in both games in the final week of the regular season - 17-12 at No. 12 West Chester and 16-8 vs. No. 19 IUP.  She had two goals and six draw controls in the PSAC championship win vs. Mercyhurst.

She was one of four Warriors to score at least 30 goals, and one of four with at least 50 points, on a team that set a school record with 263 goals and scored at least 10 in all 20 games.

Rahmer has 97 goals and 20 assists through three seasons, along with 80 caused turnovers, 134 ground balls and 124 draw controls as a standout two-way midfielder.

Petteway led DII in save percentage through most of the season, and is third in save percentage (.532), second in total saves (190) and eighth in saves per game (10.56) entering the national semifinals, which will be contested this weekend at Bloomsburg. She leads the PSAC in all three categories.

She had at least a .500 save percentage in 11 of her 17 starts, and also had at least 10 saves in 11 games.

She posted 22 saves in the 16-10 win vs. Mercyhurst on April 15 and earned IWLCA DII Defensive Player of the Week honors. She also had a combined 21 saves in two wins vs. IUP, 16-8 in the regular season and 11-9 in the PSAC semifinals, and had 14 saves in a 10-7 win at No. 16 Lock Haven on April 4 in the second game of the 12-game winning streak.

Petteway is one of three freshmen among the 48 IWLCA All-America selections.

ESU has two of the three PSAC players named All-America, along with Mercyhurst senior midfielder Carly Zimmerman.
