ORANGEBURG, N.Y. – East Stroudsburg University extended its winning streak to five matches on Saturday afternoon, with the Warriors posting 3-0 road sweeps over Nyack and Dominican.
Senior
Desiree Claxton and sophomore
Sam Dunphy had eight kills apiece against Nyack (0-11), while sophomore
Jasmine Williams had a team-high seven kills at Dominican (0-9) after matching a season-high with five blocks in the opener.
The Warriors (8-2) have won eight of its past nine matches overall, and today's victories give them a five-game winning run for a second-consecutive season. ESU hit over 20 percent as a team in 4 of 6 sets on the afternoon.
Junior
Tina Predojevic served as the primary setter in both contests, registering 30 assists at Nyack and adding 21 more against Dominican. She also chipped in a team-best four aces and nine digs in the second contest.
Eleven different Warriors recorded at least one kill versus Dominican. Senior
Maddie Reichard ranked second behind Williams, totaling six kills in the two sets she appeared in.
Williams registered .500 attack percentages against both teams. Senior
Courtney Miller, who leads the team with a .413 attack percentage overall in 2017, hit .714 with five kills versus Nyack.
ESU now has six days off before hosting IUP at 7 p.m. next Friday night in its first PSAC matchup of the season.
