MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – Lauren Lister had a season-high 23 points to lead four starters in double figures, as Millersville held East Stroudsburg University to a season-low points total while claiming a 69-48 victory on Wednesday evening.
With 10 points, senior guard
Imani Brown was the lone Warrior to reach double figures, as ESU (11-6, 9-4 PSAC) dropped only its second game of the season to a PSAC East opponent. Kendra Bamberger added 15 points and seven rebounds to help the Marauders (9-9, 6-8) upset the Warriors at home for a second-straight season.
ESU's offensive struggles began at the opening tip, as the visitors were held without a point until a short Brown jumper with 2:43 left in the first quarter. Millersville, though, held only a 12-8 advantage at the end of the frame, with a combined 16 turnovers preventing either side from getting into an offensive rhythm.
The Marauders opened up their largest first half lead of 12 points in the closing seconds of the second quarter, with a late Bamberger layup giving the home side a 33-21 edge heading into the intermission.
The lead was up to 15 points at 49-34 after Millersville closed the third quarter on a 10-2 run, and ESU was unable to get back within single digits in the final 10 minutes of the contest.
The Warriors shot a season-low 25.4 percent (17-67) from the field, and they were 16.1 percent (5-31) from 3-point range.
Millersville's five starters combined for 66 of the team's 69 points. Alayah Hall and Courtney Dimoff contributed 12 and 10 points, respectively, for the Marauders, while Dimoff added a game-high 11 rebounds.
With her 10 points, Brown moved past Rose Mohl (1981-85) for 13th place on ESU's all-time scoring list. She now has 1,058 points in her collegiate career.
Freshman guard
Amanda Pike chipped in a season-high nine points (3-7 3FG) in seven minutes off the bench for the Warriors, while sophomore guard
Tiffany Lapotsky also finished with nine points.
ESU's previous season-low scoring output was 53 points in a loss to Jefferson on Nov. 26. The Warriors, who entered the night ranked fifth in the PSAC in scoring (74.3 ppg), were held under 60 points for only a third time in 17 games on the year.
