EAST STROUDSBURG – Senior
Allison Cardow and sophomore
Tarah Killane each won a pair of races, helping East Stroudsburg University take first place in all but one event during a 125-79 dual victory at Millersville on Friday.
The Warriors (5-2) were victorious in 8 of 9 individual races, and they also out-touched the Marauders (3-4) in both contested relays. Tonight's dual was moved from its original date of January 13 due to inclement weather.
Cardow topped the field in the 200-yard individual medley (2:15.97) and 100 butterfly (1:00.89) while Killane was first in the 500 freestyle (5:26.94) and the 1000 free (11:08.01).
ESU grabbed the top two spots in a pair of races. Senior
Kate Zimmerman followed Cardow in the 200 IM with a time of 2:16.37, and senior
Annie Fagan (55.16) and sophomore
Olivia Lukshides (55.37) touched the wall within 0.21 of each other in the 100 free.
Other individual winners included junior
Briana Hall in the 50 free (25.41), Lukshides in the 200 free (2:00.08) and Zimmerman in the 100 breaststroke (1:09.06). All times listed above, though not season bests as the team tapers towards the PSAC Championships in February, were below the conference qualifying standard in each respective event.
Senior
Colleen Dwyer, Zimmerman, Hall and Fagan began the meet with a first place time of 1:51.01 in the 200 medley relay, and Hall, Dwyer, Lukshides and Fagan concluded the evening with a mark of 1:41.89 in the 200 free relay.
With a 5-2 dual record, ESU matches its win total from a year ago. The Warriors have finished with a winning dual record in each of the past five seasons, and they have gone 14-7 in three seasons under head coach
Brie Globig.
ESU returns to Koehler Fieldhouse for the first time since Nov. 4 next Saturday, as the Warriors conclude the regular season with the ESU Invitational. That meet, which will include fellow PSAC schools Kutztown and Millersville, is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m.
