EAST STROUDSBURG – Junior Karly Conway scored three goals in less than 15 minutes in the second half, and East Stroudsburg University posted another dominant defensive effort during a 4-0 win over Slippery Rock on Saturday.

The Warriors (9-2, 4-0 PSAC) matched a team record established in 1995 with their fifth-consecutive shutout, and they earned a sixth-straight win over the Rock (5-7, 0-4 PSAC). The home side led 22-4 in shots, with junior Maddie Richie required to make only one save in goal to secure the clean sheet.

Senior Kelli Shapiro opened the scoring for ESU in a scramble following a penalty corner 13:22 into the contest. She would later add her team-leading fifth assist of the season on Conway's final goal of the afternoon.

Conway's hat trick was the first recorded by a Warrior player this season. She scored an unassisted goal just under six minutes into the second half, fired in a pass from junior Grace Martini in the 47th minute and completed the trifecta with 14:23 remaining in regulation.

The Collegeville, Pa., native moved up to seventh in the PSAC rankings with seven goals overall on the year. She entered 2018 with two goals across her first 23 appearances for the Warriors.

ESU, ranked No. 2 in the most-recent NFHCA Division II national coaches' poll, has allowed only five shots on goal during its current five-game shutout streak. The Warriors have shutouts in eight of the past nine games, surrendering two goals in the past 674 minutes of game action.

Saturday was the team's annual Think Pink game. ESU wore pink shirts and socks, and proceeds were collected to benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

The Warriors continue a three-game homestand on Wednesday, hosting No. 6 Kutztown in a 3:30 p.m. contest at Whitenight Field. The Golden Bears (9-3, 2-2) have lost two games in a row after winning 9 of 10 to begin the season.
