MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – Junior Olivia Lukshides posted a PSAC-qualifying time in the 100-yard freestyle, and East Stroudsburg University won three events in its season-opening relay meet at Millersville on Saturday.

The Warriors took second place overall with 108 points, 18 back of first-place Kutztown. Senior Briana Hall and freshman Emma Billings contributed to all three event victories, while sophomore Taylor Howery and freshman Sarah Luigard were also on winning relays.

Lukshides completed the opening leg of the 400 free relay in 55.75, over a half-second under the 2018-19 PSAC mark of 56.35. The school record holder in the 200 free, Lukshides is a six-time PSAC scorer through her first two seasons with the Warriors.

ESU would ultimately win that race with a time of 3:49.14, as Billings, Howery and Hall followed Lukshides into the pool.

Hall, Billings and Luigard began the afternoon with a victory in the 300 butterfly relay, with their mark of 3:11.85 nearly four seconds ahead of second-place Millersville. Hall, Billings, Howery and Lukshides, meanwhile, completed the 200 free relay with a winning time of 1:44.65.

ESU added four additional second-place showings in the 300 breaststroke relay, the 800 free relay, the 400 medley relay and the 400 medley IM relay.

The Warriors get their dual season underway in two weeks, as they take on Kutztown and Misericordia in a tri-meet at Kutztown on Saturday, Oct. 20. That competition will begin at 1 p.m.
