EAST STROUDSBURG - Redshirt sophomore Mike Raccioppi won by major decision for East Stroudsburg University's only result in a 34-4 dual setback against Kutztown in PSAC and NCAA Division II Super Region 1 wrestling on Friday night at Koehler Fieldhouse.

Raccioppi, ranked No. 5 in DII and No. 1 in the region at 165 pounds, used 10 takedowns for a 22-10 major decision over Connor Rogovich.

He improves to 17-3 on the season, 13-1 vs. DII competition and 12-1 in duals this winter, posting his 11th bonus point win (4 falls, 2 tech falls, 5 majors).

Kutztown sent three returning national qualifiers to the mat, including All-Americans at 125 pounds and 285.

ESU freshman Victor Lopez battled Austin Petril, ranked No. 3 in the region at 125, in a 2-1 loss in the opening bout. Petril's first-period takedown was enough, as Lopez rode out Petril in both the second and third periods but couldn't get the turn to beat the returning All-American.

Kutztown captured a major decision at 133 pound and decisions at 141, 149 and 157. At 157, Mikey O'Brien won a 10-6 decision over ESU senior Christian Silva after an entertaining first period that ended 6-6, with Silva gaining a reversal and four back points.

After Raccioppi's major decision, Kutztown won the final four bouts. Jeff Reimel, a returning national qualifier and ranked No. 3 in the region at 184, won an 8-0 decision over senior Paul Rallis. At 285, No. 5-ranked Ryan Appleby, a two-time national qualifier and All-American last year, won by technical fall.

ESU travels to Seton Hill for conference and regional dual action on Sunday.
