EAST STROUDSBURG – Alayah Hall sank a game-winning layup at the buzzer, as Millersville spoiled Senior Day for Imani Brown with an 80-78 victory over East Stroudsburg University at Koehler Fieldhouse on Saturday.

The Marauders (15-11, 12-10) clinch the East's No. 3 seed in the upcoming PSAC tournament. The Warriors (16-10, 14-8), as the No. 2 seed, will host the winner of Monday's first round matchup between Millersville and No. 6 Mansfield in a quarterfinal on Wednesday.

Brown had a team-high 19 points, including 15 in the fourth quarter, in the final regular season home game of her collegiate career. Her 3-point play with 1:14 remaining gave ESU a 78-75 lead in the contest.

Hall, though, responded with the final five points of regulation. She hit a jumper with 1:08 left to cut the deficit to one, tied the score after going 1 for 2 from the free throw line with 31 seconds on the clock, and went coast-to-coast after an ESU miss to seal the 500th career win for Millersville head coach Mary Fleig.

Sophomore guard Jordan Hertz contributed 16 points, one shy of her career-high, six assists and four steals, while freshman forward Marlene Bassett added 15 points for the home side.

All six of Hertz's assists came in the first 12 minutes of the game. The Warriors hit 11 of 16 shots from the field (68.8 percent) in the first quarter to take a 25-23 lead after the opening quarter.

The offense slowed down over the next two quarters, however, as ESU shot 23.7 percent (9-38) over the next 20 minutes. Millersville outscored the Warriors 37-24 during that span to take their largest lead of 11 points (60-49) into the fourth.

Brown and Hertz (4-4 FG, 2-2 FT) combined for 26 of ESU's 29 points in a high-scoring final quarter to help the home side pull back ahead before Hall's late heroics. Hall finished the contest with 21 points and eight rebounds, while Millersville's Lauren Lister led all scorers with 22 points.

The Marauders have won 7 of 9 games since their 69-48 home win over the Warriors on Jan. 24, while ESU will enter the postseason on a season-high four-game losing streak.

Wednesday's quarterfinal, set to begin at 5:30 p.m. at Koehler Fieldhouse, will be the third-straight year that ESU has hosted a playoff game. The Warriors topped Millersville 82-53 in last year's quarterfinal round, and they bested Bloomsburg by a 79-69 final in the first round back in 2015-16.

Millersville will host its first round contest against Mansfield at 6 p.m. on Monday. The Mountaineers (8-20, 6-16) snapped an eight-game losing streak and snuck in as the No. 6 seed with a 63-55 road win at Cheyney on Saturday.

Notes:

With her 19 points, Brown moved up to No. 10 on ESU's all-time scoring list with 1,195 for her collegiate career. She is 18 back of Jessica Martin (2011-15) for ninth place. Brown reached double figures for a 61st time in her ESU career and a 23rd time in 26 contests this season.

Hertz is averaging 12.3 points over the past three games after her 16-point output today. Her career-high of 17 points was set in ESU's PSAC opener at Clarion on Nov. 18 this season.
