HILTON HEAD, S.C. – East Stroudsburg University continued its weeklong Spring Break trip with a 6-3 defeat to Quincy on Tuesday morning.
The Warriors (1-5) earned victories at No. 3 doubles and the final two singles positions.
Freshmen
Quinn McCluskey and
Amanda Jackson emerged with an 8-5 win in doubles, improving their overall record in 2017-18 to 5-2. ESU's other wins came from senior
Elizabeth Bartoli at No. 5 singles (6-3, 6-1) and junior
Lauren Morrissey at No. 6 (6-3, 6-3).
Bartoli improved to 2-0 in singles play on the trip, while Morrissey has won three of her four dual singles contests this season.
The Hawks (2-2) won the remaining four singles matchups in straight sets.
ESU returns to action Thursday morning for an 8 a.m. tilt against Clarion. The Warriors edged the Golden Eagles by a 5-4 final when the two teams met in Hilton Head last March.
