GREENSBURG - Freshman midfielder Krista Mitarotonda had six goals and an assist and sophomore midfielder Hana Cicerelle added four goals as No. 19-ranked East Stroudsburg University opened its defense of its 2017 PSAC women's lacrosse championship with a 16-4 win at Seton Hill on Saturday afternoon.

Senior midfielder Alicia Stratten scored two goals and junior attack TJ Jefferis had a goal and two assists as ESU (2-1) put seven players on the scoresheet.

The Warriors opened a 9-2 lead at halftime, and scored the first six goals of the second half - along with the final goal of the first half - for a 7-0 run.

Seton Hill (1-4) scored two of the final three goals in the contest.

Senior midfielder Chessie Rahmer, who scored her 100th career goal in Wednesday's 19-5 win at Chestnut Hill, and junior midfielder Emma Rufolo both had a goal and an assist, and sophomore attack Cassidy McKenna also scored for ESU.

Sophomore goalkeeper Tatyana Petteway made seven saves and the Warriors held a 35-18 advantage in shots.

Mitarotonda and Cicerelle are the first Warriors with four-plus goals in the same game since Rahmer and Brooke Fritz in last year's 20-11 win vs. Chestnut Hill in the season opener.

Both players scored three goals in the first half, and Mitarotonda added three more after the break. Mitarotonda leads the Warriors with 11 goals and an assist, and Cicerelle has 10 goals and an assist, through the first three games.

ESU won last year's PSAC championship, the first in program history, with a pair of one-goal wins in the PSAC semifinals and championship game at Whitenight Field - 11-9 vs. IUP and 10-9 vs. Mercyhurst.

The Warriors also made their first-ever NCAA DII Tournament appearance, finishing 17-3. They edged Seton Hill, 12-11, on April 8 in the fourth game of a school-record 12-game winning streak.

ESU returns to PSAC action on Tuesday at 4 p.m. vs. Millersville.
