MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – Rebecca Blatt had two home runs and seven RBIs in the opener, and Faith Willenbrock registered two homers and four RBIs in Game 2 to lead Millersville to a doubleheader sweep over East Stroudsburg University on Saturday.
The Warriors (11-19, 3-7 PSAC) fell 10-2 in five innings in Game 1, and they were bested 6-1 in the night cap. The Marauders (17-14, 6-4 PSAC) clinched the season series with victories in three of the team's four meetings.
Freshman
Ashley Spencer had a two-run single in the opener, and she added two of the Warriors' five hits in Game 2.
Senior
Mary Wallick, who delivered a thrilling walk-off grand slam to complete a 6-5 comeback win over Kutztown on Friday, went 3 for 3 with a run scored in Game 1 to continue her strong offensive stretch. The three-hit game was her third of the season, and she leads the Warriors with 11 multiple-hit games on the year.
Millersville scored in all four trips to the plate in Game 1. The home side then grabbed an early 4-0 advantage after the first inning of Game 2. Sophomore RHP
Erica Molinaro held the Marauders to two runs the rest of the way, working all six innings to pick up her first-career complete game.
Senior
Madison Oren avoided the shutout for ESU in Game 2, as she came through with a two-out RBI single in the seventh to plate freshman
Kaitlyn Caleen.
The Warriors have four home doubleheaders scheduled for next week, beginning with a 2 p.m. twin bill against Felician on Tuesday.
