ESU, the defending PSAC champion, secures a spot in the PSAC Tournament and remains one game behind West Chester (14-0, 9-0) for the PSAC lead.
The Warriors have two PSAC regular season games remaining, Saturday vs. current No. 3 seed Mercyhurst (9-4, 7-2) and next Wednesday at Bloomsburg. Mercyhurst won 9-5 at Slippery Rock on Tuesday.
Maddy Wiejk scored three goals and KiKi Brasher had 17 saves, including 11 in the first half, for Shippensburg (6-8, 2-7) under second-year head coach Nicole Miller, a 2014 ESU graduate.
ESU used two significant scoring outbursts to put away the Raiders - first, a 5-0 run in a span of 4:13 late in the first half; then, a 7-0 run in a stretch of 6:03 to turn an 11-9 lead to an 18-9 margin with 10:24 remaining.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Tatyana Petteway had eight saves for the Warriors after making 18 in Saturday's 14-7 win at Gannon.
Rahmer had an impressive afternoon with team-highs in caused turnovers (5), draw controls (6) and ground balls (6) along with her three goals.
ESU held advantages of 45-26 in shots, 20-12 in draw controls and 30-19 in turnovers.
Mitarotonda extended her season totals to 43 goals and four assists, ranking second in ESU's freshman record book in both goals and points (47) behind Kristin Restivo, who had 45 goals and 53 points in 1997.
Mitarotonda had three goals and two assists in the first half to stake ESU to a 9-5 lead, and scored two of the first four goals in the game-changing 7-0 run in the second half.
She matched her season-high of six goals set in a 16-4 win at Seton Hill on March 17. She has at least four goals in seven of ESU's 12 games, including four of the last five, and has hit the four-goal mark in six of ESU's 10 PSAC contests.
Jefferis moved into ESU's career top 10 in assists (45), and Fritz into the single-season top 10 (23). Fritz has 43 career assists, and Jefferis has 21 this season.
The Warriors improve to 39-10 (27-7 PSAC) under third-year head coach
Xeni Barakos-Yoder, including 20-2 in regular season conference games - not including a pair of PSAC tournament victories - in the last two years.
Saturday's match-up with No. 22 Mercyhurst will be significant in determining the PSAC's No. 2 seed, which would receive a first-round bye, should West Chester win out with games vs. Lock Haven, at Millersville and vs. IUP.
ESU won its first-ever PSAC championship with a 10-9 win over Mercyhurst last spring.
