EAST STROUDSBURG – Katrin Wolfe, who has led the athletic compliance efforts at fellow PSAC member Pitt-Johnstown for over seven years, was hired Monday as East Stroudsburg University's new Associate Athletic Director for Compliance.

Wolfe's first day at ESU will be Monday, September 17. She joins the Warriors after serving as UPJ's Director of Wellness Programming & Athletic Compliance, and she was additionally the Senior Woman Administrator for the Mountain Cats.

Originally hired in April, 2011, Wolfe has been with UPJ throughout its affiliation with the PSAC which began in 2013. She was responsible for monitoring compliance with all aspects of NCAA Division II and PSAC policies. She was also heavily involved in budget creation and management, new staff hires, tracking student-athlete eligibility and supervising the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

"We're excited to welcome Katrin Wolfe to the Warrior family," ESU Director of Athletics Dr. Gary Gray said. "Katrin will oversee the NCAA eligibility of approximately 500 student-athletes, process NCAA waivers, complete all NCAA reports, process transfer requests, and conduct everything else we do in the broad spectrum of NCAA compliance. She comes to ESU with some great experience in the PSAC, so we expect her to hit the ground running."

Outside of athletics, Wolfe served as the first director of Pitt-Johnstown's new Wellness Center, managing all of the building's day to day operations while also creating and implementing programs to facilitate student involvement.

Wolfe was a four-year member of the women's golf team during her time as an undergraduate at Penn State. She is a six-time USGA Women's Amateur and Mid-Am Championship qualifier, including every year from 2015-17.

Volunteer activities for Wolfe include assisting with Special Olympics programs and serving as a faculty/staff advisor for the UPJ chapter of Habitat for Humanity.

Wolfe graduated from Penn State in 2006 with a bachelor's degree in kinesiology. She added a master's degree in exercise physiology from West Virginia in 2008, and another master's degree in higher education management from Pittsburgh in 2013.

"I am excited to join the ESU athletics department," Wolfe said. "The school has a strong athletics history, and I am ready to do my part to help the student-athletes reach their goals."
