2018-19 ESU Wrestling Individual Results
KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The East Stroudsburg University wrestling team made the most of its time at the Kutztown Duals on Friday as the Warriors went 2-1, including a 27-18 win over No. 25 nationally-ranked Millersville University in a PSAC matchup.
ESU (4-5, 1-4 PSAC) started the day by dropping a tough 25-20 decision against Seton Hill University. The Warriors held a 20-12 lead in the match before the Griffins rallied and won the final three bouts, including a fall by Seton Hill's Jake Beistel over redshirt sophomore
Cameron Kates at 285 pounds.
The Warriors bounced back in their second dual against Queens University (N.C.) with a 34-15 victory. ESU would go down 6-0 after a forfeit at 125 pounds but respond with six-straight wins to take a 31-6 advantage over the Royals. Redshirt junior
Mike Raccioppi capped the streak for ESU with a fall against Jacob Balmas in a time of 2:15.
Ryan McGuire helped Millersville take a quick 3-0 lead against the Warriors following his 10-6 decision over sophomore
Peter Nace at 133 pounds. Redshirt senior
Dylan Nace would give the Warriors a 6-3 edge in the match after pinning Alex Jablonski in a time of 2:37. The 174-pound bout saw Raccioppi notch an 11-4 decision over Millersville's Anthony Yacovetti to make it 21-7 ESU.
Nace, who entered the day as the twelfth-ranked wrestler in the country at 141 pounds, went 3-0 for the Warriors. Nace improved his record to 5-2 in duals this season for ESU and upped his overall career record to 70-22.
Raccioppi came in as the eighth-ranked wrestler in the country at 174 pounds and remained undefeated this season in duals, going 3-0 for ESU. He is 19-2 overall on the season and 6-0 in duals to go along with six victories by fall and six by major decision for the Warriors.
Sophomore
Nick Conetta delivered a pair of wins for ESU, including a 16-1 technical fall victory against Seton Hill's Derrick Chandler-Christie at 133 pounds. Conetta evened his overall record at 4-4 on the season while notching his first dual wins of the season.
