EAST STROUDSBURG – The East Stroudsburg University men's wrestling team hosted its final home dual matchup of the season on Friday night at Koehler Fieldhouse as the Warriors recorded a 41-9 victory against Shippensburg in PSAC action.
 
ESU (5-5, 2-4 PSAC) tallied its second win of the season in conference action against the Raiders and notched three pins while winning eight bouts overall. The Warriors honored seniors Dylan Nace and Brandon Vigo prior to the start of the contest. Nace would win his 141 bout via pin, while Vigo was pinned in his heavyweight bout.
 
The Warriors would get a pair of forfeit decisions in the match as freshman Nick Reto (125) and sophomore Marquan Payne (157) tallied victories for ESU at their respective weights. Sophomore Nick Conetta and Nace helped to give ESU an 18-0 advantage in the match by recording consecutive pins at 133 and 141. Conetta pinned Shippensburg's Jake Downing in 1:38, while Nace pinned the Raiders' Matt Milbrand in 4:20.
 
Junior Richard Viruet would give ESU a 32-0 lead with his 16-0 tech fall (6:54) win against Shippensburg's Abner Thompson at 165 pounds. Redshirt junior Mike Raccioppi followed for the Warriors with a pin at 174 against Austin Klucker in 2:50.
 
Shippensburg (4-5, 0-2 PSAC) won two of the final three bouts on the night as Ryan Narber recorded a 5-0 decision at 184 pounds against freshman Ronnie Simmons, Jr. Derek Berberick finished the night at heavyweight with a pin in 5:25 for six points against Warriors' Vigo.
 
The Warriors return to the mat next Saturday and will participate in the Messiah Open in Grantham, Pa. ESU then travels to Kutztown for a PSAC dual on Feb. 8 beginning at 7:30 p.m.
