BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The East Stroudsburg University Warriors ran to a first-place finish in the men's 4x400-meter relay and had several members of the team set personal bests on Saturday at the John Covert Classic hosted by Lehigh University.
Freshman
Jalen Bailey, senior
Akeim Thomas, freshman
Mamadu Bari, and junior
Andrew Schumacher recorded a time of 3:23.70 in winning the 4x400 for the Warriors and set a season-best mark in the process.
In the mile race, freshman
Ben Reisenweaver notched a personal-best and PSAC qualifying time of 4:26.97 for ESU. Sophomore
Jordan Cruise narrowly missed hitting his personal-best in the mile (4:30.33) with a time of 4.30.90.
Junior
Garth Estadt had a personal-best mark of 21-8 3/4 for the Warriors in the long jump, while sophomore
Dan Amari hit a personal-best in the pole vault with a height of 14-5 1/4 for ESU.
Freshman
Daryn Blackwell also set a new personal record with a mark of 49-6 1/2 in the weight throw for the Warriors. The mark stands as the 10th-best in program history, just ahead of sophomore
Dominic Walton's throw of 49-6 1/4 from earlier this season.
Senior
Pat Monahan would be the top finisher for ESU in the 60-meter dash (7.10) and 200-meter race with a time of 23.37.
The Warriors are back in action on Feb. 2, as ESU will host its 20th Annual DeSchriver Invitational. ESU then heads to Staten Island, N.Y. on Feb. 8 for the Fast Track National Qualifier.
