BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The East Stroudsburg University men's cross country team placed fourth at the PSAC Championships on Friday, marking the team's best finish at the Championships since a second-place showing in 2012.
Casey Ellis took home All-PSAC First Team honors after placing seventh on the individual leaderboard with a time of 25:50.2. The seventh-place showing from Ellis was the best individual finish by a Warrior since Frank Fezza was runner-up in 2012. Ellis has now taken home All-Conference honors in each of his first three seasons at ESU.
Jeremy Smith was the team's next top finisher at the meet, placing 21
st with a time of 26:26.0 to collect All-PSAC Second Team recognition. Smith also earned All-Conference honors as a sophomore back in 2017.
Ben Reisenweaver and
Dylan Senatore just missed the cut for All-Conferences honors, as Reisenweaver finished in 33
rd place with a time of 26:51.7, and Senatore clocked in at 26:52.4 to place 34
th.
The Warriors had three other runners place among the top-55 in the 8k, as
Teddy Mostellar finished 52
nd in 27:14.8,
Andy Lopez registered a 54
th-place showing with a time of 27:17.2, and
Luke Valdevit recorded a 55
th-place finish in 27:18.2.
Edinboro was crowned PSAC Champions with 63 team points and an average time of 26:07, while Lock Haven (109 pts) and Shippensburg (128) finished second and third, respectively. ESU took fourth with 145 team points and an average time of 26:40. Joseph Westrick of Gannon won the individual title with a time of 25:20.3.
ESU will head to the Go Fast/River Run hosted by Lock Haven on November 2.
