SALISBURY, Md. – The East Stroudsburg University men's cross country team captured the 8k team title at the Don Cathcart Invitational hosted by Salisbury University on Saturday. The women's team also posted a strong showing with a fourth-place finish in the 6k.
The ESU men registered a total time of 2:09:39.33 on the 8k course and finished with 44 team points, beating out Wilmington (2:10:48.40), which registered 65 points.
Casey Ellis was the team's top finisher, placing third overall with a time of 25:32.61.
Jeremy Smith clocked in at 25:38.97 to finish just behind Ellis in fourth place. Nate Senatore (26:02.27) and Theodore Mostellar (26:07.93) placed 11
th and 12
th respectively, and
Ben Reisenweaver (26:17.55) claimed 14
th.
Dylan Senatore (26:31.98) and Andrew Lopez (27:02.78) were the team's other top finishers.
The ESU women's team combined for a time of 1:54:37.90 in the 6k and took fourth place with 74 points. Stevenson won the event, registering a total time of 1:51:54.36 and tallying 47 points.
Rachael Davalos led the Warriors on the day, clocking in at 22:13.70 to finish in fifth place. Amanda Fine (22:50.76),
Jenna Vledder (22:58.25), Kylee Stangle (23:15.45) and
Emily Eder (23:19.74) also posted top-20 finishes.
Brittany Carratura (23:33.55),
Kaylene Raczka (24:03.53) and
Haven Snyder (24:27.25) notched the team's other top times.
Both the men's and women's teams are in Center Valley, Pennsylvania next weekend for the DeSales University Invitational on October 12 at 10:30 a.m.
