KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The East Stroudsburg University women's track and field program recorded five first-place finishes while adding three PSAC qualifying marks on Friday at the Kutztown Last Chance Qualifier.
Freshman
Juliana Schraer notched a personal-best mark in the pole vault and qualified for the PSAC championships in the process. Her mark of 10-6 also ranks sixth all-time in program history.
In the long jump, freshman
Kamya Edmonds set a personal-best and PSAC mark of 17-0 3/4 for the Warriors. Her jump is the second-longest of the season for ESU. Freshman
Zionette Salahuddin recorded a personal-best mark of 44-0 in the weight throw. Her throw was also a PSAC qualifying mark for ESU.
Senior
Marissa Flim tallied another first-place victory for the Warriors in the 55-meter dash with a time of 7.27. Junior
Tiana Webster finished second and delivered the ninth-fastest time (7.30) in program history.
The 55-meter hurdles saw three Warriors place in the top-five as senior
Aspen Gaita crossed the line first in a time of 8.22. Freshman
Jeanette Jones placed third and recorded the ninth-fastest time in program history (8.77). Freshman
Misha Duverger finished fourth for the Warriors with a time of 8.94.
ESU also tallied first-place finishes in the 1000-meter and 400-meter races. Junior
Emily Eder notched a time of 3:25.66 in the 1000, while junior
Sarah Klag crossed the line in a time of 1:00.49 in the 400.
Junior
Rachael Davalos paced three Warrior runners in the mile run with a time of 5:39.69. Sophomore
Mandy Fine (6:01.11) finished second, while freshman
Kaylene Raczka placed third with a time of 6:04.26.
The Warriors head to Edinboro for the 2019 PSAC Indoor Track & Field Championships, which will be held Feb. 23-24. The NCAA Div. II Indoor Championships will be held on Mar. 8-9 in Pittsburg, Kansas.
