WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Junior
Tiffany Lapotsky had another memorable all-around performance, totaling 25 points, seven rebounds and four steals to lead East Stroudsburg University to a key 68-53 win at West Chester on Saturday.
The Warriors (11-14, 8-10) earn their second-straight victory against a PSAC East frontrunner after knocking off division-leading Bloomsburg by a 72-48 final on Thursday. They also end a four-game winning streak for the Golden Rams (14-13, 10-9).
Lapotsky hit 8 of 11 shots from the field and 7 of 10 free throws while recording her 8th game of 20+ points this season. She has totaled 20 or more points 11 times overall in her collegiate career, and she extended her streak of scoring in double figures to 18 games in a row.
With the victory, the Warriors remain tied with Shippensburg (12-14, 8-10) for sixth place in the East standings, and they are only a half-game back of Lock Haven (14-12, 9-10) and Millersville (12-14, 9-10) for fourth place. The top six teams in the division will advance to the conference playoffs.
ESU never trailed in today's contest, scoring the game's first seven points and ultimately jumping out to a 17-4 advantage midway through the first quarter. The lead was 20-13 at the end of the frame, with Lapotsky contributing 12 points while hitting all five of her field goal attempts.
West Chester twice drew level in the second quarter, with a free throw by Katherine Fisher tying the score at 29-29 with 1:41 remaining. ESU, though, scored the final four points on field goals by sophomore

Dominique Rayam to take a 33-29 lead into the intermission.
The Warriors then used an 11-0 run, capped by a layup inside by sophomore
Marlene Bassett, to take a 46-34 advantage with 3:39 left in the third quarter. ESU maintained its double-digit lead for the remainder of the contest while holding the Golden Rams to a total of 24 points in the second half.
ESU, which halted a 22-game losing streak at West Chester during the 2016-17 season, has now won two of its last three contests at Hollinger Fieldhouse.
Junior
Jordan Hertz added nine points and six assists in today's victory. She has handed out four or more assists in 12-straight games for the Warriors, and she continues to rank second in the PSAC at 6.0 assists per game overall on the year.
ESU has two more games remaining in the regular season to try to secure a playoff spot, beginning with a 6 p.m. home contest against Kutztown on Wednesday.
