STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – The East Stroudsburg University Men's Track and Field program added four PSAC qualifying marks on Friday night at the Fastrack National Invite in Staten Island, N.Y. The Warriors 4x400-meter relay team also made its way into the ESU record book.
The team of freshman
Sean Roberts, senior
Akeim Thomas, freshman
Mamadu Bari, and junior
Andrew Schumacher notched a second-place finish for the Warriors in the 4x400-meter relay. Their time of 3:20.78 was the fastest this season for ESU and also moves into the program record books as the ninth-fastest time.
ESU had a pair of runners tally PSAC qualifying marks in the 3000-meter run as sophomore
Jordan Cruise delivered a season-best time of 8:58.79, while sophomore
Casey Ellis finished with a personal-best time of 8:59.94 for the Warriors.
Junior
Andrew Schumacher placed fifth out of 75 runners in the 400-meter dash for the Warriors. Schumacher's time of 50.10 was a PSAC mark along with a personal-best and season-fastest in the event for ESU. Freshman
Sean Roberts also had a strong showing in the event for ESU, placing 14th with a time of 51.02. The mark for Roberts was a personal-best and PSAC qualifying time.
The Warriors had two top-10 finishers in the 800-meter run as senior
Khai Samuels just missed an NCAA Provisional mark in placing sixth with a time of 1:54.19. Freshman
Ben Reisenweaver placed 10th and recorded a personal-best time of 1:58.88 for the Warriors.
Sophomore
Omari Slocombe ran to a 12th-place finish in the 200-meter dash for the Warriors with a personal-best time of 22.69. Junior
Nick Lawrence placed 23rd for ESU with a personal-best time of 22.82.
Freshman
Justin Miller placed seventh for ESU in the long jump with a mark of 22-9 3/4 and hit a personal-best in the triple jump with a mark of 45-4 1/4. Junior
Jamal Cooley also hit a personal-best in the triple jump with a mark of 44-3 1/2.
In the shot put, sophomore
Dominic Walton notched a fifth-place finish for the Warriors with a distance of 52-5 1/4. Sophomore
Dan Amari also placed ninth in the pole vault with a height of 14-5 1/4.
The Warriors are back in action on Feb. 15 for the Kutztown Last Chance Qualifier, which comes ahead of the PSAC Championships.
