LEWISBURG, Pa. – Senior
Jonathan Hummel delivered a PSAC qualifying mark in the javelin and several members of the East Stroudsburg University men's track and field team had personal-best performances over the weekend at the 2019 Bison Outdoor Classic at Bucknell University.
Hummel finished 17th in the javelin with a personal-best mark of 168-1 and currently ranks 16th in the PSAC in the event. Senior
Khai Samuels placed 39th out of 109 runners in the 1,500-meter race for the Warriors with a personal-best time of 3:59.55. His time is currently the seventh fastest so far in the conference.
Sophomore
Jordan Cruise notched a career-best time of 4:01.80 in the 1,500-meter race for the Warriors, while sophomore
Casey Ellis set his personal-best time at 15:41.33 in the 5,000-meter race for ESU.
In field events, sophomore
Dominic Walton recorded a mark of 54-10 1/4 and placed fourth in the shot put. Walton also finished 10th in the discus with a mark of 160-11, which ranks fourth this season in the conference.
Junior
Noah Lockwood competed in both the shot put and discus, placing 15th and 20th for ESU. He delivered season-best marks of 49-1 (shot put) and 146-7 (discus) for the Warriors, while freshman
Daryn Blackwell finished 29th in the discus with a mark of 138-7.
The Warriors host the 14th annual All-American Meet on Saturday, April 20 at Eiler-Martin Stadium. Throwing events are scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. with track and jumping events to follow at 10 a.m.
