LEWISBURG, Pa. – Samantha Young was one of three members of the East Stroudsburg University women's track and field team that competed over the weekend at the 2019 Bison Outdoor Classic at Bucknell University.
 
Young, a graduate student, placed 15th overall for the Warriors in the 1,500-meter race and recorded the fifth fastest time in program history. Her time of 4:43.02 is a personal best and is the fourth fastest this season in the PSAC.
 
Junior Rachael Davalos recorded a personal-best time of 18:54.59 in the 5,000-meter race and has continued to work on hitting the PSAC qualifying time of 18:45.00 for ESU.
 
Junior Me'Saj Closs placed 15th for ESU in the discus with a mark of 124-11 and was one of six competitors from the PSAC to place in the top 20. Closs also placed 10th in the hammer with a mark of 164-5 and was one of three from the conference to place in the top 10.
 
The Warriors host the 14th annual All-American Meet on Saturday, April 20 at Eiler-Martin Stadium. Throwing events are scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. with track and jumping events to follow at 10 a.m.
