LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The East Stroudsburg University men's track and field programs recorded three individual first-place finishes and one PSAC qualifying mark on Saturday at the Lock Haven Last Chance Qualifier.
Freshman
Carlos Pepin placed first and matched a personal-best for the Warriors in the high jump with a mark of 6-4 3/4. Sophomore
Dominic Walton won the shot put with a mark of 54-10 3/4, while junior
Noah Lockwood placed second with a mark of 47-10 1/2.
Sophomore
Jordan Cruise crossed the finish line first in the mile run for ESU with a time of 4:23.84, while sophomore
Casey Ellis finished fourth with a time of 4:41.17.
ESU had a pair of top-five finishers in the 400-meter run as junior
Andrew Schumacher and senior
Khai Samuels placed third and fourth. Schumacher's time of 49.50 was a personal-best and PSAC qualifier, while Samuels' time of 50.51 was a personal-best.
Freshman
Daniel Daley set a personal-best and finished fourth in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.77, while freshman
Brendan Shaffer placed third for ESU in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.99.
The Warriors also had a pair of top-five finishers in the 200-meter dash as junior
Nick Lawrence placed third with a time of 22.32, while Schumacher finished fifth with a time of 22.54. Freshman
Naseem Guillaume placed fifth in the 400-meter hurdles for ESU with a time of 1:00.63.
In field events, Walton finished second in the discus throw with a mark of 156-2, while freshman
Jonathan Bennett placed sixth in the long jump with a mark of 19-0 1/2.
The Warriors travel to Mansfield next weekend for the 2019 PSAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The event begins on May 9 and runs through May 11. The 2019 NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships will take place, May 23-25, in Kingsville, Texas.
