HOLMDEL, N.J. – The East Stroudsburg University men's cross country team was the top-finishing DII program on Saturday at the Henry Mercer Monmouth Invite as the Warriors completed the 5-mile course with a total time of 2:17:58.66.
The ESU men recorded an average time of 27:35.74 and finished ahead of Seton Hall and St. Peter's in the team standings.
Junior
Casey Ellis crossed the finish line with a time of 26:56.11 and placed 12th in the individual standings for the Warriors. Senior
Jeremy Smith ran to a 14th-place finish with a time of 27:02.63. Junior
Teddy Mostellar placed in the top-40 runners with a time of 27:36.02.
The Warriors had four other runners that placed in the top 50 as senior Andrew Lopez placed 44th, sophomore
Nathan Senatore (45th), senior
Jeremy Rapposelli (47th), and junior
Alex Race (49th).
Marist won the overall team standings with a total time of 2:14:31.72, while Siena placed second with a time of 2:14:08.05.
ESU heads to the Don Cathcart Invitational on October 5 in Salisbury, Maryland.
