TIFFIN, Ohio – The East Stroudsburg University women's wrestling team looked to have its first-ever dual victory in place against Tiffin on Friday night inside the Gillmor Student Center. The Dragons would have over plans in store as they recorded a fall at 170 pounds to secure a 23-20 victory against the Warriors.

Joanne Ortiz opened the dual for the Warriors with a fall against Tiffin's Trinity Oredina at 101 pounds to give ESU an early 5-0 advantage.
The Warriors increased their lead to 10-0 as
Tatyana Ortiz followed with another fall at 109 pounds against the Dragons' Sugey Ceja. The Dragons responded with wins at 116 and 123 pounds to trim ESU's advantage to 11-8.
Campos would get ESU back onto the scoreboard with four points thanks to her 10-0 victory over Tiffin's Stephanie Mondragon at 130 pounds. Trailing 15-8, Tiffin closed the gap to 15-13 following a fall at 136 pounds.
Marinaccio would make it 20-13 in favor of ESU with her victory by fall over Tiffin's Ariah Snyder at 143 pounds. The Dragons responded at 155 pounds as Taylor Hites won via fall to trim the Warriors' lead to 20-18.
The Dragons would take their first and only lead of the match as Jessie Lee won by fall over ESU freshman
Shola Cascen to secure the 23-20 victory for Tiffin, who improved to 2-4 in duals this season.
The WCWA National Championships will be hosted by Life University in Georgia, February 7-8. The Women's National Collegiate Wrestling Championships will be hosted in Adrian, Michigan, March 6-7.
