EAST STROUDSBURG – Senior
Alexandra Ferrante opened the ESU Invitational by delivering a personal-best swim in the 1650-yard freestyle and the East Stroudsburg University women's swimming team recorded six individual victories on the afternoon inside Koehler Fieldhouse.
ESU tallied 90 points to finish ahead of Millersville (57) and Kutztown (38) in the team standings.
Ferrante clocked a time of 19:10.96 to add her name to the list of PSAC Qualifiers in the 1650 free and bested her previous career mark by almost 16 seconds. Ferrante joins senior
Tarah Killane, who qualified for the event earlier this season.
Freshman
Emily Librandi improved her PSAC qualifying mark in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.21. The time matches senior
Olivia Lukshides for the fastest by an ESU swimmer this season. Lukshides finished second in the event for the Warriors with a time of 25.52.
Junior
Taylor Howery finished first in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:03.50. She would finish almost three seconds ahead of Cara Green from Kutztown, who finished second with a time of 1:05.88.
Sophomore
Emma Billings would be the first swimmer to finish the 200-yard butterfly as she notched a time of 2:25.33. Lukshides captured the 100-yard freestyle title with a time of 55.11, while Killane won the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:34.93.
The Warriors prepare for the 2020 PSAC Swimming Championships that will be held February 19-23 in York, Pa. at the Graham Aquatic Center. ESU has eight swimmers that have qualified for a total of 14 events.
