Warriors Complete Opening Day of 2020 PSAC Swimming Championships; ESU 10th in Team Standings

Day One Results

YORK, Pa. – The East Stroudsburg University women's swimming team opened the 2020 PSAC Swimming Championships on Wednesday with a pair of swimmers advancing to the finals. The four-day meet is being held Wednesday through Saturday at the Graham Aquatic Center in York, Pennsylvania.
 
The Warriors are 10th out of 12 schools in the team standings with 84 points through 10 events. West Chester tallied 421 points on the opening day, while Bloomsburg sits second with 304 points.
 
Senior Tarah Killane advanced to the finals of the 1000-yard freestyle after finishing 13th in the prelims during the morning session. Killane delivered a PSAC mark of 11:02.07 to finish 21st for the Warriors.
 
Freshman Emily Librandi qualified for her first finals event after swimming to a 24th-place finish for the Warriors in the 50-yard freestyle. Librandi narrowly edged senior Olivia Lukshides for the final spot with a personal-best time of 25.05. She improved her time in the finals (24.98) and recorded a 23rd-place finish.
 
The Warriors competed in a pair of relay events on the day as the team of Taylor Howery, Julia Harnish, Emma Billings, and Lukshides finished eighth in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:52.71 to secure 44 points for ESU. The eighth-place showing was the best for ESU since finishing seventh at the 2018 PSAC Swimming Championships.
 
Billings, Alexandra Ferrante, Killane, and Librandi notched a 10th-place showing in the 800-yard freestyle relay with a time of 8:23.89 to add 34 points to ESU's overall point total.
 
Sophomore Sarah Luigard was one of two Warriors to compete in the 200-yard individual medley and set a personal-best time of 2:17.74 to finish 36th for ESU.
 
Prelims will begin each of the four days at 10 a.m. with the finals to follow at 6 p.m. on Wednesday through Friday. The finals on Saturday are slated to begin at 5 p.m.
