ESU Women’s Volleyball Announces 2020 Recruiting Class

EAST STROUDSBURG – East Stroudsburg University Head Coach Tricia Melfy and the women's volleyball program have announced the signing of four student-athletes to National Letters of Intent ahead of the 2020-21 academic year.

The Warriors welcome Skye Wolfe, Kaylee LoPresto, Haley Smalls, and Hannah Lammey along with Ali Finch, who is an NCAA Division I graduate transfer from Ball State University.

"I can't wait for our newest Warriors to hit the court this year," said Melfy. "Although these are very different and even challenging times, we are very excited about the work being put in by our players. These young ladies have embraced this time as an opportunity to get in shape and ready for our 2020 season."
 
"We will be able to hit the ground running, in the gym, and have fast-paced, productive practices. We are all looking forward to getting back together, making connections, and getting after it as a team!"
 
The recruiting class includes two student-athletes from Pennsylvania, one from Arizona, one from Michigan, and one from Virginia.
 
ESU made its second-straight appearance in the PSAC Tournament as the Warriors finished the season 29-7 and captured the program's first PSAC championship since 1987. The Warriors set a program record for DII victories (29) and notched their best record since 1996 (32-2).
 
The Warriors earned the No.3 seed in the Atlantic Region as ESU made its second-ever appearance in the NCAA DII Women's Volleyball Championship. ESU won 10 consecutive matches during the season and set a program record with 16 conference victories. The Warriors tallied back-to-back 20-win seasons for the first time since 1996-97,

Skye Wolfe | Fr. | Spring Grove, PA
High School: Spring Grove
Coaches: Liz Ziegler and Samantha Strausbaugh
 
Wolfe attended Spring Grove Area High School where she was a team captain in her junior and senior years. She tallied 145 blocks during her high school career and helped her team advance to the District Quarterfinals during her sophomore and senior seasons. She plans to major in Athletic Training and Pre-Professional Rehab Sciences at ESU.
 
 
Kaylee LoPresto | Fr. | Litchfield Park, AZ
High School: Millennium
Coach: Julia Vastine
 
LoPresto attended Millennium High School where she earned first-team academic and second-team all-region honors in 2019. She also garnered honorable mention accolades in 2018 and capped her career by receiving first-team academic honors in 2020. She helped her team capture a State Championship in 2018 and earned runner-up honors in 2019. She plans to major in Special Education at ESU.
 
 
Haley Smalls | Fr. | Fredericksburg, VA
High School: Colonial Forge
Coach: Courtney Guengerich
 
Smalls attended Colonial Forge High School where she garnered second-team all-district accolades as a senior in 2019. She helped guide her team to an appearance in the regional tournament as Colonial Forge advanced to the semifinals. She plans to major in Marine Science at ESU.
 
 
Hannah Lammey | Fr. | West Grove, PA
High School: Avon Grove
Coach: Haley Kleespies
 
Lammey attended Avon Grove High School where she tallied 35 total blocks and 44 kills during her senior season. As a junior, she paced her team in blocking, hitting, serving, and passing. She earned all-conference honorable mention accolades as a sophomore and paced the team in blocks and was second in kills.
 
 
Ali Finch | Gr. | Cadillac, MI
High School: Cadillac
Coach: Michelle Brines
 
Finch attended Cadillac High School where she earned all-region, first-team all-conference, and first-team all-state accolades as a senior. She also garnered academic all-state honors and was the captain of the all-area team and a finalist for Michigan Miss Volleyball. She finished her high school career with 2,709 assists, 848 kills, 159 aces, and 954 digs and was an Under Armour All-American honorable mention. At Ball State, she helped the Cardinals capture the 2019 MAC West Division championship and MAC Tournament championship along with a bid to the NCAA DI Women's Volleyball Championship.
