EAST STROUDSBURG - East Stroudsburg University junior outside hitter Jessica Irwin has been named the PSAC Champion Scholar for the 2021 PSAC Volleyball Championships as the student-athlete with the highest grade-point average at the championship site, announced on Friday.

Irwin (State College, Pa./State College) becomes the first volleyball player in program history to receive the honors after recording a 4.0 GPA as an exercise science major through 90 credits.

Prior to her injury this season, the senior recorded one kill, 37 digs, six assists and a pair of blocks across nine matches.

Irwin becomes ESU's 23rd recipient of the award and the second this fall season, joining field hockey senior Hannah Barbush.
