EAST STROUDSBURG -- The East Stroudsburg University women's wrestling team competed in the second ESU Freestyle Open on Sunday. The Warriors hosted 15 women's teams inside Koehler Fieldhouse.
Emily Klein led ESU with a fifth-place finish in the 130 lb bracket. She began her day with a pin against Abbi Montgomery of Tiffin (6-0) and followed that performance with a tech fall (13-0) over Bethany Smith from Hiram. After suffering her first loss against Anya Knappenberger from Gannon (12-6), The Paramus, N.J. native would drop a match via fall to Ariana Wolkerstorfer from Greensboro (11-5). Klein advanced to the fifth position via a forfeit.
Haley Delia also placed, earning a sixth-place finish at 101 lbs. After a first round bye, Delia earned a 2-0 fall of Prazthana Nuanngam of Delaware Valley. Shanna Morris (Tiffin) and Karleigh Steiner (Gannon) would pick up victories against Delia via tech fall (10-0, 10-0) to wrap up the day for Delia.

- Janieliz Cotto dropped her first match to Grace Jones from Tiffin (5-0, fall) and then suffered a tech fall to Onnalaya Aguilera from Limestone (16-6).
- Lisa McChesney lost her first match to Cera Jones from Adrian (5-0, fall), before advancing via a bye. Her day ended with an 11-0 tech fall to Carleigh Czerneski from Adrian.
- After dropping a match to Sugey Ceja from Tiffin (3-2, fall), Dunn advanced via a bye and defeated Kenedi Keesey with a dominant 11-0 tech fall. Czerneski would take a 6-4 match via a pin against Dunn to wrap up her day.

- After advancing with a bye, Barberio fell to Maylin Reyes from Elmira with an 8-0 fall. She dropped an 8-0 contest via a 10-4 decision to Alayna Gil from Lock Haven during her final match.

- Along with Klein, Luanna Dutra also wrestled in the 130 lb bracket. Dutra dropped a 4-0 match via fall to Naomi Henry from NJCU. After advancing a round with a bye, Dutra fell to Lily Sherer from Lock Haven (10-1, fall).

- Four Warriors were represented in the 136 lb weight class, including Avery Myers, Cameron Nunez, Carmela Cancelmo and Timmory Pisciotta.
- Myers day ended with after a pair of pins with a 10-4 fall to Adrian's Shawna Oesterling and a 4-0 fall to Madison Matta of Lock Haven.
- Nunez also lost in two matches via fall against Michal Buska of Tiffin (4-0) and Laila Oribello of Adrian (4-0).
- Cancelmo fell 2-0 via a fall in a match against Savannah Vanase of Sacred Heart. Her day ended with an 8-4 fall to Zya Taylor of Adrian.
- Pisciotta fell 8-0 in a fall to Zoe Nowicki of Adrian and 5-0 in a fall to Hannah Mains of Limestone.

- After a bye, Shola Cascen fell via a tech fall to Ashley Reed of Sacred Heart. She picked up an impressive 13-4 decision of over Delaware Valley. Cascen's day came to a close against Amara Devericks of Gannon (4-0, fall).
The Warriors are back in action next Sunday, Nov. 14 when the Warriors host NJCU inside Koehler Fieldhouse at noon.
