LAFAYETTE HILL, Pa. – Sophomore
Mariah Minter placed tied for third out of 14 golfers to lead the East Stroudsburg University women's golf team in its final match of the season on Tuesday afternoon.
The Warriors competed against Jefferson and Dominican (N.Y.) in a tri-match at Union League Liberty Hill and finished with a team score of 369 to come in second.
Minter carded a season-low 86 to finish seven strokes behind the individual champion, Melissa Landis from the host Rams. Senior Micela Crines fired an 88 to place fifth and freshman
Sophia Mochan shot a 93 to come in eighth. Junior
Shannon Campbell rounded out the scoring for the Warriors with a 102 to finish tied for 12th place.
Jefferson's Landis carded a 79 to top the individual standings and the Rams won the tri-match with a team score of 338.
Dating back to the 2008-09 season, Crines finishes her career at ESU with the second lowest career average at 88.6 and the second lowest relation to par at 17.6. The Wall, N.J. native also recorded a pair of top-20 finishes at the PSAC Championships and had two career rounds in the 70's (76, 78) during her time as a Warrior.
