EAST STROUDSBURG -- East Stroudsburg University women's soccer head coach Rob Berkowitz announced the program's 2021 schedule on Thursday. The slate will feature eight home games along with a pair of non-conference matchups.
"After missing the 2020 season, the team is beyond excited to get back on the field," said Berkowitz. "The PSAC East looks to be as strong as ever and we welcome the challenge to compete against some of the top teams in the country. With the graduation of so many key players from 2019, much of the teams' success will depend upon the experience of the returners and contributions of the newcomers."
ESU posted a 14-7 record in 2019, including an impressive 12-4 record in PSAC East play. The Warriors look to advance to the NCAA Tournament for the seventh consecutive season and for the ninth time overall. Berkowitz enters his 14th season at the helm of the Warriors women's program, sporting an .652 winning percentage (163-81-26). He has guided ESU to four PSAC Championships and an Atlantic Region Championship in 2015.
The Warriors open its 29th season on the road against Felician on Sept. 2, before opening the PSAC East slate with two home contests against Bloomsburg (Sept. 8) and Kutztown (Sept. 11).
ESU travels to West Chester on Sept. 15, before returning to Eiler-Martin Stadium against Mansfield on Sept. 18. The Warriors face Bloomsburg for the second-time, this time on the road on Sept. 22.
ESU hosts Shippensburg on Sept. 29, before embarking on a three-game road stretch to open October against Lock Haven (Oct. 2), Millersville (Oct. 6) and Shepherd (Oct. 9).
After returning to the Poconos on Oct. 13 against West Chester, ESU returns to the bus for four consecutive games on the road, with trips to Kutztown (Oct. 16), Mansfield (Oct. 19) Staten Island (Oct. 21) and Shippensburg.
After that stretch of four road games in eight days, ESU will close out the campaign with three home games against Lock Haven (Oct. 31), Millersville (Nov. 3) and will have its senior day against Shepherd on Nov. 6.
The PSAC Championships, which feature the top four seeds in each division, will begin on Nov. 9 and end with the championship game taking place on Nov. 14 at the top-remaining seed in the East Division. The NCAA Tournament will begin on Nov. 19.
