EAST STROUDSBURG – In its home opener, the East Stroudsburg University swimming team set a pool record and posted four PSAC qualifying times in a dual meet against Cedar Crest on Saturday afternoon at Koehler Fieldhouse. ESU defetead Cedar Crest, 120-90, posting the fastest time in all 14 events.

Notables
- Warrior freshman Kennedy Leveto recorded three PSAC Qualifying times, while Jenna Johnson added her first conference qualifying mark of the season.
- ESU set a pool record in the first event of the day in the 800-yd freestyle relay, with, Leveto, Naihomy Garcia, Jenna Johnson and Vera Renshoff broke the previous record of 8:11.07 set in 2013 by ESU's Schafer, Palazzari, Vavra and Lawson. Leveto recorded PSAC qualifying time of 2:01.22 in the first leg of the relay for the first of four conference meet qualifying times of the day.
Jenna Johnson picked up her first PSAC Qualifying time of the season by winning the 50-yd freestyle with a time of 25.54 to win the eighth event.
Leveto picked up another qualifying time in the 100-yd freestyle. ESU tallied the top two times in the event, with Leveto posting a time of 55.90, followed by
Madison Tafe's time of 59.63.
- Leveto's final PSAC Qualifying time came on the final event in the 200-yd freestyle relay. She opened the relay with a time of 25.65 in the first 50-yards, earning a qualifying time in the 50-yd freestyle. ESU tallied a time of 1:43.95 as a whole, with Leveto, Tafe, Johnson and Renshof combining for the victory in the finale.
How It Happened
- With the 800-yd freestyle relay serving as a time trial, the first official event, the 200-medley relay was won by the ESU squad of Samantha Grayauskie, Mia Estep, Nina Marchese and Madison Tafe combined for a time of 2:04.39 to win the event.
- Up next in the 1000-yd freestyle, Rachel Heggenstaller took first with a time of 12:55.98 for third.
- ESU continued to dominate, with Maddie Tafe clocking a 2:08.84 in the 200-yd freestyle for nine Warrior points.
- The 50-yd breaststroke was next, with Erin Brandeburg's time of 35.08 setting the pace. Mia Estep grabbed second place with a time of 35.17.
- Mia Estep won the 100-yd breaststrije, pacing the event with a mark of 5:48.03 to add nine points to ESU's score.
- It was Alyssa Brown that finished first in the 500-yd freestyle. Her time of 5:48.03 bested the next finisher by nearly 15 seconds.
- Avery Fohring's time of 1:07.60 was the fastest in the 100 IM in the final individual event.
Up Next: ESU heads west to California (Pa.) for a Tri-Meet with the Vulcans and Kutztown next weekend. The two-day event begins 5:00 p.m. on Friday and resumes at Noon on Saturday.
