EAST STROUDSBURG – After capturing the PSAC title yesterday, the East Stroudsburg University field hockey team earned the No. 1 overall seed in the 2022 NCAA Division II Field Hockey Championships as the tournament field was announced on Monday via an online selection show.

As the top seed, the Warriors (18-2) receive a first-round bye and an automatic bid into the NCAA Semifinals. ESU will play the winner of the of No. 4 Assumption and No. 5 St. Anselm, who play in a NCAA Quarterfinals matchup on Sunday.

Defending national champion Shippensburg (15-3) earned the No. 2 seed as well as first-round bye into the NCAA Semifinals. The Raiders await the winner of No. 3 West Chester and No. 6 Adelphi, which will played on Sunday.

ESU advances to the NCAA Tournament for the 10th time in school history and for the seventh consecutive season. The Warriors are 6-8 all-time in the NCAA Tournament and are looking to capture their second national championship overall and first since 2015.

The 2022 NCAA Division II National Championship Semifinals and Championship Game will be played at Renton Memorial Stadium in Renton, Washington. The semifinal games are scheduled for 2 and 5 p.m. (EST) on Thursday, Dec. 1 and the championship game is set for 4 p.m. (EST) on Saturday, Dec. 3. All games will air on NCAA.com.

Since 1992, the PSAC as won 23 of the 26 NCAA DII Championships, including the last 10.
