ESU Basketball to Host Mental Health Awareness Game on February 16

EAST STROUDSBURG – The East Stroudsburg University men's and women's basketball teams will be raising awareness for Mental Health through their games against Mansfield on February 16 at Koehler Fieldhouse.

Fans are asked to wear green to the ESU-Mansfield doubleheader to show their support of the initiative.

ESU's Chapter of The Hidden Opponent is a student-led organization designed to extend THO's mission to their respected campus and athletic program.

THO is an accredited non-profit and advocacy group that raises awareness for student-athletes mental health and addresses the stigma within sports culture. THO empowers athletes around the world to face the hidden opponent together.

They believe that all student-athletes should be able to speak openly about their mental health experiences without worrying about being judged or viewed as weak. Their platform is designed to help amplify the voices and needs of student- athletes.

There will be two tables set up, one for The Hidden Opponent-ESU Chapter and one for Active Minds. They will both being sharing little mental health resources on or around campus, more about their clubs and will be selling baked goods, bracelets, THO masks and stickers! There will also be a door prize of a self-care kit along with some swag gear from ESU and The Hidden Opponent-ESU Chapter.
