ERIE, Pa. -- Led by Emily Klein and Avia Bibeau, who claimed regional titles, the East Stroudsburg University women's wrestling team placed fourth of 12 teams at the National Collegiate Women's Wrestling Championship Northeast Regional on Sunday at Gannon University.
In addition to Bibeau (143) and Klein (123), Natalie Dunn (3rd place, 116), Mia Macaluso (3rd place, 130), Bri Simsic (5th, 170) and Shola Cascen (191, 5th) each punched their ticket to the NCWWC National Championship at Adrian University in Adrian, Mich. The six Warriors will compete for a national championship and a chance to earn NCWWC All-America status on March 5-6.

- Bibeau, the four-seed at 143, dominated the competition at 143. She began her first collegiate postseason with two fast tech falls, defeating Hiram's Katie Vogt-Shields by a score of 11-0 in just 46 seconds. She followed up that performance with another tech fall handling Sacred Heart's Temlayto Sanusl a 12-2 loss in just 1:22. Up next for Bibeau was a pin over Tiffin's Nia Miranda in 3:40 of the first round. Bibeau advanced to the finals and pinned Sacred Heart's Madison Sandquist in just 42 seconds to claim the 143 regional title. The East Stroudsburg North product enters nationals undefeated at 143, with a perfect 6-0 record and a record of 8-2 overall.
- Klein began her run to the regional championship with a pin over Lock Haven's Mackenzie DelVecchio at the 3:20 mark in the first period. She followed that pin with another fall over Albion's Samantha Parcell at 2:35 to advance to the finals. Klein, who entered the weekend with six consecutive wins, claimed the 123 regional title with a decision win over Tiffin's Grace Jones by a score of 11-6. Klein is also undefeated in her current weight class, entering nationals with a perfect 7-0 at 123 and holds a 12-4 record overall this season.
- Dunn earned a win over Albion's Jayla Oberst, recording a tech fall by a score of 10-0 in 2:51 of clock to begin her day. After suffering a loss via pin to Angela Lorusso of Adrian, Dunn fought back in the consolation bracket with tech fall over teammate Alanna Barberio (10-0, 3:47) and defeated Oberst in the 3rd-place match.
- Macaluso entered the meet undefeated at 6-0 was named the NWCA's Northeast Region Wrestler of the Month on Friday. After a quick tech fall in 33 seconds (10-0) over Gannon's Sam Houser, Macaluso suffered her first collegiate loss to Solana Mottola of Tiffin via a 13-8 decision. The Otisville, N.Y. native bounced back win pins over Lock Haven's Lily Sherer (1:20) and NJCU's Naomi Henry (2:02) to secure third-place at 130. The USA Junior National Champion enters nationals with a 9-1 record.
- Simsic opened regionals with a loss to Adrian's Aspen Dodge (pin, 0:33). In the consolation bracket, she earned back-to-back pins over Summer Mauk of Albion (5:15) and Elmira's Georgianna Ustaszewski (4:57). Simsic dropped another match to Adrian's Kaley Rada (pin, 1:22), but punched her ticket to nationals with a pin in 51 seconds over Tiffin's Paige Lenhardt for fifth place at 170.
- After a loss to first-seed Sandy Guerro of NJCU, Cascen was able to string a pair of wins together against Gannon's Daniella Morales (dec., 6-4) and Tiffin's Nyere Grant (pin, 2:05). Cascen was delt a tech fall loss against Tiffin's Hollie Espinoza (10-0, 2:21), but rallied for a fifth-place finish with a win over Adrian's Yamilez Perez. Cascen earned the win via decision by a score of 8-3.
