AUSTIN, Texas – The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced on Wednesday that East Stroudsburg University field hockey back Hannah Barbush has been named to the 2021-22 Academic All-America® women's at-large Third Team following her outstanding performances both on the field and in the classroom this season.

Barbush, a team captain, has now garnered All-PSAC First Team, PSAC Champion Scholar, the Elite 90 Award, CoSIDA Academic All-District 2 At-Large Team and CoSIDA Academic Third Team All-America honors this offseason.

The Manheim native becomes ESU's 57th Academic All-American among all sports, joining ESU football's Rece Bender (Second Team) and volleyball's Ali Finch (Third Team), who each earned honors back in the fall.

Barbush was a First Team NFHCA All-American selection after starting in all 21 games for the Warriors, recording three goals as well as team-highs in assists (8) and defensive saves (5). On November 1st, the senior earned PSAC Defensive Athlete of the Week after making a pair of defensive saves in a 1-0 victory over nationally-ranked Millersville.

Barbush graduated from ESU back on May 7 with a degree in special education/early childhood education while maintaining a 3.927 cumulative grade-point average (GPA). She was an active member of ESU's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), serving as the secretary in 2021-22 and as field hockey's representative for three years.

Barbush becomes the seventh Warrior field hockey student-athlete and ninth overall selection to earn CoSIDA Academic All-America honors. She joins Syndey McCarthy (2018, 1st Team), Emily Howell (2017, 2nd Team), Danielle Ard (2017, 3rd Team), Ally Roth (2016, 3rd Team), Katie Horst (1998-99 – 1st Team, 1997 3rd Team) and Michelle Knapik (1987, 1st Team).
