Supey, Field Hockey Collect NCAA Statistical Champion Awards

EAST STROUDSBURG – The hardware continues to accumulate for East Stroudsburg University field hockey following their 2022 NCAA Division II Championship as the Warriors received four NCAA Statistical Champion awards while junior goalkeeper Amy Supey garnered a pair of individual accolades.

Supey is the 2022 NCAA Statistical Champion in goals against average (0.41) and save percentage (0.873). The Lehman, Pa. native allowed just eight goals while recording 55 saves and seven solo shutouts over 1163 minutes in net.

The NFHCA First Team All-American notched a pair of shutouts on the way to ESU capturing their second NCAA DII National Championship back on December 3. Additionally, she was tabbed First Team All-PSAC and the PSAC Defensive Athlete of the Week (10/18) this season.

As a team, ESU was the statistical champion for goals against average (0.41), save percentage (0.877), shutouts per game (0.68) and winning percentage (0.909).

With a record of 20-2, the Warriors topped the Division II in winning percentage on their way to setting the program record for single-season victories. ESU was stingy on defense, leading the nation in shutouts per game with 15 in 22 games. The Warriors also allowed more than one goal in two games the entire season for a 0.41 goals against average.

It marks the first individual NCAA Statistical Champion award for ESU since Maddie Richie recorded a 0.83 goals-against average in 2018 and first team honor since 2015 when the Warriors had a 0.864 winning percentage and +2.25 scoring margin.
