No. 11 Warriors Fall to No. 7/8 Sacred Heart in Home Dual

EAST STROUDSBUG – In a top-20 matchup at Koehler Fieldhouse to close a busy Saturday, the No. 11 East Stroudsburg University women's wrestling team fell to Sacred Heart by a score of 33 to 11 on Saturday night.   

The Warriors fall to 7-5 on the season, while the Pioneers improves to 13-4 in duals.

Winning matches for ESU were its three nationally ranked wrestlers in #6 Emily Klein, #6 Mia Macaluso and #8 Zoe Gress.

Notables
  • #6 Emily Klein defeated Nohea Moniz by decision, as the two tangled for the entire six minutes. Klein outlasted Moniz, picking up the 7-4 decision for three team points for her 21st win in 24 matches.
  • #6 Mia Macaluso pinned her opponent, Tatiana Walker, in 52 seconds, for ESU's lone fall of the day. She improves to 16-5 on the season and now has seven pins on the season.  
  • #8 Zoe Gress also picked up a victory, with a 6-3 decision win over Temi Sanusi for her seventh consecutive win. She improves her overall record to 12-5 on the campaign.
