LOCK HAVEN – Highlighted by junior midfielder Jady van Gils being honored as the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Athlete of the Year, the East Stroudsburg University field hockey team had seven players named to the 2023 All-PSAC Teams, announced on Wednesday by the league office.

Graduate students Nicole Krozser and Lia Parker as well as senior Maddy Barbush and van Gils were selected to the First Team, while seniors Madison Kline and Amy Supey were honored on the Second Team. Senior Grace Lesh rounded out the selections for the Warriors on the Third Team.

van Gils (Amersfoort, Netherlands/Vathorst College) becomes the first Warrior to garner PSAC Athlete of the Year honors in nine years and just the third in program history, joining Ally Roth (2014) and Ashley Kocis (2006). An All-PSAC Second Team selection a season ago, van Gils landed on the First Team after registering 22 points with nine goals, which included a pair of game-winners and four assists. As a midfielder, van Gils makes her presence felt on both the offensive and defensive ends. The Netherlands native ranks ninth in the conference in points (1.29), 11th in goals (0.53) and 12th in assists (0.31) per game.

Despite playing as a back, Barbush (Manheim, Pa./Manheim) elevated her game as the senior finished the regular season with a career-high eight points, which included a pair of penalty stroke goals and four assists, to earn All-PSAC First Team honors. The Manheim native was a Second Team selection last year and played a key role in seven shutouts for ESU this season.

A staple in the Warriors’ lineup, Parker (East Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) garnered All-PSAC First Team honors for the first time in her career after receiving Second and Third Team recognition in previous seasons. The East Stroudsburg native finished with 12 points on a trio of goals and six assists and aided the Warriors in seven shutout performances this year.

Now a three-time all-conference selection (Second Team – 2022 | Third Team -2021), Krozser (Boonton, N.J./Boonton) received All-PSAC First Team honors for the first time in her career after notching 21 points on a team-high 10 goals, which included four game-winners, and one assist. Krozser was named the PSAC Athlete of the Week back on October 24 and currently ranks seventh in the conference for goals (0.59) and 10th in points (1.24) per game.

For the second straight season, Kline (Oley, Pa./Oley Valley) was named to the All-PSAC Second Team as the senior totaled a team-high 23 points with nine goals and five assists. The Oley native was tabbed as the PSAC Athlete of the Week on September 12 and among conference rankings is sixth in points (1.44), seventh in assists (0.31) and ninth in goals (0.56) per game.

A two-time PSAC Defensive Athlete of the Week this season, Supey (Lehman, Pa./ Lake-Lehman) received Second Team All-PSAC honors after finishing with a 0.80 goals against average, 29 saves (0.690 save %) and five solo shutouts. A First Team selection a season ago, Supey set the school record this campaign for the most solo shutouts in a career dating back to 2003 with 15. The Lehman native currently has an all-time record of 50-9 and a goals against average of 0.70 which ranks second in the record books.

Despite missing three games this season, Lesh (Millerstown, Pa./Greenwood) landed on the All-PSAC Third Team after registering six points on two goals and a pair of assists. As a back/midfielder, the Millerstown native played a part in seven shutouts for the Warriors this year.
