RICHMOND, VA. – The East Stroudsburg University women's basketball got the 2023-24 season underway on the right foot as the Warriors defeated Shaw, 71-52, in the opening game of the HBCU CIAA/PSAC Classic, hosted by Virigina Union, on Friday evening inside Barco-Stevens Hall.

The Warriors shrugged off a slow start to begin the year 1-0 for the second straight time while the Bears dropped to 0-1.
