CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA – On the final day of the season, the No. 11 East Stroudsburg University women's wrestling team took eighth place of 30 teams at the NCWWC National Championships, with four NCWWC All-America honorees on Saturday at Alliant Energy Power House.
Earning NCWWC All-America status for ESU were
Mia Macaluso (3rd place, 123),
Emily Klein (6th place, 116),
Sofia Macaluso (6th place, 123) and
Zoe Gress (7th place, 143).
Mia Macaluso highlighted the meet with a third-place finish in her weight class, becoming the first two-time NCWWC All-American in program history after earning a 4th place finish a season ago.

Notables
- No. 6 Mia Macaluso started the day strong with a pin of Gabby Skidmore (Augsburg), and then matched up her sister and teammate in the consolation semifinals with a trip to the 3rd-place match on the line. Mia was able to pin No. 4 Sofia in 22 seconds to advance against McKendree's No. 3 Jennifer Soto. Mia earned ESU's highest NCWWC Championship finish to date after earning a pin in 2:05, to take third place at 123.
- No. 6 Klein began her day in the consolation bracket against Gannon's Samantha Larsen, earning a 9-0 decision to advance to the consolation semifinal round. She fell by tech fall to No. 1 Victoria Seal (Simon Fraser). Her second national championships ended with a tech fall loss to No. 2 Payton Stroud of McKendree in the fifth-place match to take sixth in 116.
- Sofia, ESU's lone representative in the championship bracket on day two, fell to No. 1 Marissa Gallegos by a 10-4 decision for just her second loss of the season. Sofia then had to face her sister, No. 6 Mia Macaluso and was pinned at the 22 second mark. Sofia then faced another tough bout in No. 3 Vayle-rae Baker, with Baker earning an 11-11 decision in the fifth-place match, to take sixth-place in her weight class as a freshman.
- Gress began the day against No. 4 Kendall Bostleman of North Central in the consolation round 5. Bostellman was able to pin Gress, sending the Hoosick Falls native to the 7th place match. Gress was able to close the season strong with a fall in 1:49 against No. 7 Clarissa Agostini, earning seventh place at nationals for her second All-America nod and her first as a Warrior.
