EAST STROUDSBURG – The East Stroudsburg University women's tennis team wrapped up their 2022-23 season on Tuesday as the Warriors dropped a 6-1 decision to Bloomsburg in a PSAC East match at Wolbers Courts.
The Warriors finished the season 0-10 overall and 0-7 in the PSAC East, while the Huskies (5-10, 5-2) turn their attention to the PSAC Championships.
Prior to the match, ESU honored senior Jesse Galvin and graduate student Elina Joronen.
Competing in the second half of the season, Joronen finished a perfect 7-0 at No. 1 singles after she defeated the Huskies' Lexi Quackenbush, 7-6, 6-2.
The two-time PSAC East Athlete of the Week etched her name into program history by recording the best singles record in a season (min. five wins) with an impressive 100.0 win percentage.
For the third time in the last five matches, Samantha Passmore and Joronen took down the opponents No. 1 doubles as the duo earned a 6-1 victory over Bloomsburg's Sarah Capoferri and Alese Rinker.
